SMALL GROUPS
Anger: Our Master, Our Servant (Men) - This group offers a clear explanation of anger, what causes it, and how to recognize it. Participants will learn beginning steps to manage anger, methods to control it in relationships, and 10 steps to prevent anger from controlling their life.
Concerned Persons - This group is designed for those who have a current or past relationship with a person who has a life-controlling problem. It helps us to realize the need we have for each other and helps us learn how to focus on the Solution rather than the problem.
Crossroads: Choosing the Road to Sexual Purity - This group is designed to show how biblical principles can be applied to help overcome sexual addiction and temptations that may destroy one's life and family.
Godly Parenting - This group addresses parenting skills and suggests methods for raising healthy, godly children in an increasingly secular society. Emphasis is placed on communication and teaching skills, discipline, protection, and sexual issues at each age of childhood development. Effective parenting is conducive to avoiding or certainly minimizing life-controlling problems in children as they grow and mature into adulthood. This group is currently being conducted by one of SCLC's church partners.
Insight Group for Adults -This small group discusses The Upward Path to Christian Character as described in II Peter 1:3-11, the definition of a life-controlling problem, delusion and denial, walls of defenses, care-fronting and leveling.
Insight Group for Teens - Same as above only curriculum designed for teenagers.
Restoring Families- This small group helps family members come to grips with abuse and family violence, and seeing the healing of wounded emotions and reconciliation with boundaries.
Seeing Yourself in God's Image - This group explores the principles of bondage to food as expressed in the eating disorders anorexia and bulimia.
Stepping Into Freedom (Separate Men's and Women's Groups) - A 12-step recovery group, implementing the 12 steps of AA, applying Scripture to each of the 12 steps.
Understanding Depression - Written by a pastor with a 20-year career in mental health, this group study is designed to create a supportive, Christ-centered environment for persons coping with depression and for family members.
